Claire Reeve is a qualified integrative counsellor. Claire holds a Practitioners Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. In addition, Claire has a Level 2 Award in Counselling Skills for Children and BSc (hons) Psychology.
Since qualifying Claire has worked with children, young people and adults in both private and charity organisations. Claire is an Accredited Member of The National Counselling Society (MNCS Accred) and a Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
Claire began her career as a childcare specialist, working in nurseries and private homes. Claire has also worked in a variety of health care and social care settings, working with children and families. Claire trained to be a counsellor to expand her therapeutic skills and knowledge whilst working with families experiencing social care support. During this time Claire also trained to work therapeutically using life story skills and the Principles of Theraplay.
Claire has previously been a volunteer counsellor at Basildon Mind and a sessional children and young people’s counsellor with Open Door, Thurrock. Currently Claire works part-time as a CBT/Integrative Therapist at The Priory Hospital Chelmsford.
Claire has experience of applying CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) skills to support individuals with issues such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. However, as Claire works integratively she can apply a variety of other theories and modalities to suit the needs of each individual client; this may include Inner Child work, Transactional Analysis and a Person-Centred approach.
Claire continues expanding her knowledge through regular CPD training opportunities; most recently Claire has completed a Level 2 Certificate in Self Harm and Suicide Prevention and the Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. Claire has also attended recent training and webinars on subjects including, grief, childhood neglect, suicide and safeguarding.
